Gran ambiente en la celebración del Día de la Bicicleta en Jerez de los Caballeros

Gran ambiente el que se vivía este domingo en la Plaza de España de Jerez de los Caballeros con motivo de la celebración del Día de la Bicicleta organizado por el Ayuntamiento de Jerez de los Caballeros junto con el Club Ciclista de esta ciudad, el Programa de Dinamización Deportiva de la Mancomunidad Sierra Suroeste y la colaboración de: Policía Local, Cruz Roja, Protección Civil, Junta de Extremadura, las Diputaciones de Badajoz y Cáceres, empresas y casas comerciales.
En torno a un centenar de personas de todas las edades participaron en esta actividad que tuvo como referente el deporte de la bicicleta con creciente presencia en Jerez de los Caballeros. Los más pequeños fueron protagonistas participando en las actividades organizadas especialmente para ellos como una gymkana no competitiva que tuvo como escenario la propia Plaza de España donde se dispuso un circuito con pequeños obstáculos y pruebas de habilidad. Padres, madres, abuelos y abuelas les acompañaron en esta divertida propuesta y en la posterior carrera de cintas que se llevó a cabo con la participación también de niños y niñas de mayor edad. Además se realizó un Paseo en bicicleta por las calles de Jerez de los Caballeros y una carrera de lentitud.
La entrega de premios puso el colofón a este Día de la Bicicleta. El alcalde de Jerez de los Caballeros, Juan Carlos Santana y la segunda teniente de alcalde, Isabel Álvarez, presidieron la entrega de obsequios junto a miembros del Club Ciclista de la localidad y la Dinamizadora deportiva, Inmaculada Pitel. Se concedieron los siguientes premios: el de participante de menor edad que correspondió a Héctor Caricol Hernández, de 21 meses y Paola Díaz Galván, de 24 meses; el más veterano que correspondió a Bartolomé Díaz Gómez; a la bicicleta más antigua que presentó Antonio Rubio Cordobés; a la familia más numerosa que fue para la familia González Cumbreño y el de maillot más antiguo que correspondió a Hugo Ceberino Montero. También se entregaron premios a los ganadores de la carrera de cintas, Noa Gata Reales y Jaime Gil Lindo, y a los ganadores de la carrera de lentitud, Hugo Ceberino Montero e Ismael Suárez Mesa. Por último se celebró un sorteo de regalos.
En el contexto de esta cita, la junta local de la Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC) llevó a cabo una actividad de sensibilización con motivo del Día de la lucha contra el cáncer de mama.
